Against stacked competition, the PVHS girls’ track & field team set 2 school records at Wellsville in the 4x400 relay and junior Kinley Baker in the 400 for 3rd place. Jane Hough: 3rd pole vault & 6th 100 hurdles. Jessica Petric: 8th 100m & 4th 200m. 4x100 relay - 4th.


PVHS junior Julia Paisley threw a no-hitter, perfect game on Thursday striking out 7 of 9 hitters! The team won the double header and improves to 14-3 on the season!

The PVHS varsity softball team swept Olpe on Thursday, winning 22-3 and 17-0 in the double header and improving to 14-3 on the season! The Buffs travel to Wellsville and Jayhawk next week to finish the regular season. Regionals are May 17 and May 20 in Burlington.


Congratulations to the 8th grade girls track team for winning the Pioneer League Track & Field meet! The team set two new meet records in the 4x400m relay and 1600m run!

Good luck to the PVHS Track & Field team competing at Wellsville today in the 36th Annual Redbud Classic! Field events start at 3:30pm.


Congratulations to the Class of 2021 Salutatorian Copenhagen Browning. Copenhagen is the daughter of Eric and Kendra Bowning. In high school, she has been a four-year manager of the football team, a four-year member of the wrestling team, a two-year member of the softball team, a three-year member of the National Honor Society, a three-year member of the Library Club, a four-year participant in FFA, a two-year member of the French Club, and a officer in the Student Council for two years. In addition, she was the first girl from Prairie View to earn a medal at the Girls’ State Wrestling Tournament. Outside of high school, she has been a member of the Parker Thunderbirds 4-H Club for 11 years serving as both the President and Vice President, a five-year member of the Linn County Junior Leaders serving as both the Secretary and Treasurer, a five-year member of the Linn County 4-H Council serving as both the Treasurer and President, and a two-year member of the Dog Club. Copenhagen has attended the Prairie View School District since Kindergarten. After graduation, she plans to attend Labette Community College to complete their 23-month Radiology Program.


Congratulations to the Class of 2021! Today our senior took their finals. The valedictorian of our class is Kyra Uphoff. Kyra is the daughter of Brian and Corissa Uphoff. In high school, she has been a four-year member of the FFA, a three-year member of the National Honor Society serving as both the President and Secretary, a four-year member of Student Council serving as Secretary, a four-year member of the Scholars Bowl Team serving as the Captain her Senior year, a three-year member of the Mathlete Team, a four-year participant in our theater productions serving as a writer in the 2020 movie production, a three-year manger for the track team, and a member of the inaugural Trap Shooting team this year. Outside of high school, she has participated in Dance for the last 14 years at the Paola School of Dance and the Reign Dance Studio. Over the last 10 years she has been active in 4-H serving as the Club Reporter, Treasurer, Secretary, Historian and earning the 4-H Key Award. In addition, she was a seven-year participant in Girl Scouts earning both the Bronze and Silver Awards. She will graduate with a 4.0 GPA, a Kansas Honor Scholar, and Academic Letter Winner. After graduation, she plans to attend Missouri State University to study anthropology and agriculture.


Good luck to the MS Track & Field team competing in the Pioneer League meet in Burlington on Thursday! The 8th grade girls 4x400 relay is currently ranked #1 in all classes in Kansas!


Congratulations to the PVHS Band for earning its first 1 rating since 2012 in this year’s State Music Festival!


A great start to the evening with the Smiling Singers kicking off the choir concert singing the National Anthem & Prairie View Fight Song, along with other crowd favorites!
