Prairie View USD 362 Parents,
Today, Wednesday, September 23, 2020, we have had a student that attends Prairie View High School test positive for the COVID-19 virus. We investigated for possible exposure of students and staff. Those that it may affect have been or will be notified of quarantine measures that need to be followed. At this time, this affects approximately 17 students and 2 staff for quarantine.
It is important to note that during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic we all must take precautions and remain diligent in order to continue to provide in-person school. It is important to remember that all students and staff must continue to practice our safety protocols.
Again, if your child is experiencing any of the symptoms of the COVID-19 virus which also mimic flu and cold symptoms, as a precaution keep them home and do not send them to school. As always, we are following our guidelines that we have put in place to help lessen the extent of exposure of the virus and we are working with the Linn County Health Department to determine if any further measures need to be taken.

Vote now for Prairie View to be featured as the Game of the Week! The PVHS & Burlington football programs are currently undefeated and will face off Friday night at PV! Vote here:

Starting Tuesday, September 8th, Prairie View district will serve FREE breakfast and lunch to every student that wishes to eat. All students are eligible for free meals, regardless of prior status.
This is due to a waiver from the US Department of agriculture that oversees school food programs. This waiver is good until the funding has been depleted.
For students that are remote or virtual, they have the option to come to their school and pick up meals, we appreciate you letting us know ahead of time. You can call your school secretary and we can have meals ready for you.
If you know of children ages 1-18 that live in our district but are not students, such as younger siblings, we encourage you to call the elementary building that you live closest to and we can have meals ready for you to pick up between the hours of 11-12 for lunch and 8- 8:30 for breakfast. You will need to call the day before so we can have meals ready. The children must be seen in order for us to hand out meals.
Also, middle school and high school students will start having the option to purchase extra entrees on Tuesday. These do have to be paid for and student's will have to have a positive balance in their lunch accounts to make the purchase.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email us. We feel this is a great opportunity to help out the families in our district.

PVHS Picture Day is tomorrow! Pictures of our on-site students are from 8:15 to 10:00. Remote and virtual students are invited to have their picture taken in the cafeteria between 10:00 and 10:30. Picture packets went home on Tuesday, but extras are available in the office.

The varsity volleyball games will be live streamed today starting at 4:10pm for senior recognition:

Thank you so much for your patience as we got meal services going. We have been serving over 1000 meals each day. Friday, April 10th is a holiday- so we will not deliver meals on Friday. We will deliver double the meals on Thursday so there will be no interruption in meals.

Middle school parents. New packets will be at the lunch delivery locations today. If your child is in need of one, you will just need to ask for one. If we run out, we will make more. This packet will have 3 weeks worth of work. When dropping off, make sure the work is labeled

PVMS Students and Parents. If you do not have internet access, packets will be available at the lunch pickup points and lunch routes. We do not have exact numbers so if we run out at one location, we will have more on Tues. Just ask for one if needed.

Thank you all for your cooperation and patience as we undertake the meal service and delivery for our students. We have made a couple of adjustments so, please check your emails for details.
If you have questions call 913-757-2059. If no one answers, please leave a message.

Starting Wednesday, March 25th we will begin FREE meal service for all children ages 1-18 within the boundaries of USD 362 school district each week day. We will be providing lunch for the day of delivery along with breakfast for the following day.
We will have drive up service available from 11 am - NoonMonday- Friday at LaCygne Elementary and Parker Elementary. Meals will be served at the front of each building each day.

Students that live in one of these towns or communities, will need to come to one of the drive thru spots each day to receive meals.
For students that normally ride a bus - we will be delivering meals along the normal bus routes. Bus drivers will be delivering meals by coming to your house, they will be in a school marked vehicle. At that time they will need to visually see each child in the house in order to provide meals for each child. Deliveries will take place between 10 am - 12:30 pm.
All children ages 1-18 are eligible for FREE meals every day, Monday-Friday, each week until the end of the normal school year, May 21st.
In order to receive the meals, we only need to visually see the child each and every day. We cannot, by law, give meals to adults or give extra meals for kids left at home. The children must be in the car or be seen by our delivery drivers.
If you live within the district and do not see a bus driver this week and would like to receive meals or need to make any changes to meal delivery, please call Phil Matthews at 913-757-2059.
Please be patient as we work through the next few days and work together to provide meals to all kids within our district. We are all working through new and uncharted waters right now, our kids are our number one priority.
Thanks for your flexibility.

Parents- please take just a moment to fill out the following survey- it is very important for us to help plan for our continuous learning plan for our district. We only need 1 survey per family. Thank you for your support!
