Starting Wednesday, March 25th we will begin FREE meal service for all children ages 1-18 within the boundaries of USD 362 school district each week day. We will be providing lunch for the day of delivery along with breakfast for the following day. We will have drive up service available from 11 am - NoonMonday- Friday at LaCygne Elementary and Parker Elementary. Meals will be served at the front of each building each day. We will also provide drive up service at Longhorn restaurant from 10:20 am- 10:30 am, Linn Valley Clubhouse from 10:40 am- 11:00 am, Linn Valley Church from 11:05 am- 11:25 am, Centerville Feed Store from 10:30 am- 10:40 am, Fontana Post Office from 10:15 am- 10:30 am, Tanglewood Gate 2 from 10:10 am- 10:20 am, Tanglewood Gate 3 from 10:30 am- 10:40 am. Students that live in one of these towns or communities, will need to come to one of the drive thru spots each day to receive meals. For students that normally ride a bus - we will be delivering meals along the normal bus routes. Bus drivers will be delivering meals by coming to your house, they will be in a school marked vehicle. At that time they will need to visually see each child in the house in order to provide meals for each child. Deliveries will take place between 10 am - 12:30 pm. All children ages 1-18 are eligible for FREE meals every day, Monday-Friday, each week until the end of the normal school year, May 21st. In order to receive the meals, we only need to visually see the child each and every day. We cannot, by law, give meals to adults or give extra meals for kids left at home. The children must be in the car or be seen by our delivery drivers. If you live within the district and do not see a bus driver this week and would like to receive meals or need to make any changes to meal delivery, please call Phil Matthews at 913-757-2059. Please be patient as we work through the next few days and work together to provide meals to all kids within our district. We are all working through new and uncharted waters right now, our kids are our number one priority. Thanks for your flexibility.

School will be in session for tomorrow, Thursday, May 2, 2019 unless we have excessive rains again that flood the highway east of La Cygne. Currently it is open but if 152 Highway is closed west of La Cygne, we will provide transportation from the La Cygne Elementary school for any middle school or high school students that do not wish to drive. The shuttle bus will leave La Cygne Elementary at 7:50 am. We will be bussing the students south through Pleasanton and back to the high school campus. If Highway 152 is closed between La Cygne and the high school campus, Parents please plan accordingly for an alternative route to the high school campus. If you allow your students to drive, please caution them not to drive through water. We will be very understanding of students that are running late in the next several mornings due to the high water.
