Welcome Back
1. Attendance and being on time is very important. We cover a lot of material, and much is done orally.
2. I expect the students to follow the rules, and use good manners.
3. Social Studies is covered during the 1st semester.
4. Science is covered during the 2nd semester.
5. Missed work is written on purple paper, please make arrangements to have the work picked up or sent home with someone. Please return all papers and books with your child, even if the work is not completed.
6. Any grade lower than a 70% will have a Sign and Return stamp on the paper. Please review or correct (if it hasn’t been done at school) with your child. This is a good way for us to keep in touch with each other.
7. Homework—If nothing specific is assigned please work on spelling words and math facts. If anything happens to any homework just write me a note to let me know.
8. Each student will have a planner book this year. Your child will bring the planner home when there is a homework assignment. Please check backpacks every night and sign the planner when needed.
9. Spelling---A list of 5 NEW words will be sent home on Monday (some exceptions). On Tuesday the complete list of words will be sent home on a white strip of paper. Please study these words with your child during the week. The test will be on Thursday. Spelling homework will be sent home on Wednesday. You may help your child with this homework if they need it. The homework will be about the skill we have worked on that week and will be part of the spelling test on Thursday. The words that come home on Friday “Words to Learn” worksheet are the words your child still can not spell. Please save these to work on as well. These words will appear in other tests.
10. If you have any questions you can reach me at school or home (913-795-2784). I do not mind getting calls in the evening.
Thank you for your support!
