Welcome to First Grade! Let's work together to encourage and support your child through a successful year. There are twenty students in my class, nine girls and eleven boys. They all seem excited about reading and learning.
Every Wednesday is a late start and it is also our library day. Each child may check out three books.
Your child will bring home a Daily Take-Home folder every night. Please check it for school work, notes concerning your child and reading books. Your child will bring home a book to read to you along with a note. Please sign the note and return it with the book. After filling up their reading chart with stickers they will get to pick from the prize box.
Discipline-Every Monday, each child starts off with three popsicle sticks. If he or she misbehaves, they lose a stick. After losing three sticks the student does not get extra recess on Friday. Good behavior can reinforce academic progress.
