Prairie View Crowns Spelling Champion

    Spellers representing each of the elementary schools and middle school of USD 362 convened at the Performing Arts Center on February 8 for the district spelling bee. Ashley A., a 7th grade student from Prairie View Middle School was this year's winner. Alex L., a 5th grader from Fontana Elementary, placed second and Nastassia S., a 4th grader from Parker Elementary finished third.

    Ashley has qualified for the regional spelling bee that will be held in Great Bend on March 8. The top three places received medals. Ashley also received a $100 savings bond and Alex received a $50 savings bond. The savings bonds were courtesy of Mike and Sue page of the Parker One-Stop.

    Other students competing from La Cygne Elementary were Cody C., Porsche M., and Taylor M. Parker Elementary was also represented by Sidney S. and Lake C. The other Fontana students participating were Blake M. and Colin G. PVMS was also represented by Danielle N. and Moses D.

    All the students did an outstanding job this year. We wish Ashley the best of luck in Great Bend.
