FFA Night of Recognition

The 39th Annual FFA Awards Ceremony and Reception was held Tuesday March 11th with over 200 members and guest present for a night of recognition. The evening began with the opening ceremony and a welcome from President Clint Holland.
The first award of the evening was the induction of the Honorary Chapter Degree Member Tom Schull. This was followed by Proficiency Awards, this award recognizes members for their hard work and dedication to their Supervised Agricultural Experience. Following was a speech covering the topic of Wind Energy by Freshman Brittanie Johnson and The FFA Creed was presented by Freshman Candice Wilson the District Speech Winner.
First year members were then presented with their first degree of membership the Greenhand Degree this year there were 36 members that received this degree. Each year a Greenhand member is recognized for their superior work this years Star Greenhand was Candice Wilson. The next degree level of membership to be given is the Chapter degree there was 21 members that received this level of membership. This years Chapter Stars were Jesse Page as Chapter Star Farmer and Eric Noel as Chapter Star in Agribusiness.
Special awards and recognition were presented by Mr. Atwood and Mr. Schull they recognized state degree and state proficiency winners, top ten active members, top fundraising salesman, and retiring officers. The retiring officers then recognized their parents/guardians and advisors with gifts of appreciation.
Once all of the awards were presented the 20008-2009 Officer Team was installed to begin new leadership for the up coming year. The new officers are as follows Quinton Ford President, Lindsey Wilson Vice President, Eric Noel Secretary, Madison Holland Treasurer, Dustin Michelle Reporter, and Candice Wilson Reporter. Congratulations to the newly elected officers and award winners of the evening!!!
