As you begin thinking about the courses you will take next year, please take a minute to look at Prairie View High School's Career and Technical Education Handbook. Students have at least 12 electives over their 4-year enrollment. Choose those electives from our CTE programs and actively gain skills, technical knowledge, rigorous academic foundation with real-world experience. Be prepared for those high-skill, high-demand, high-wage careers!
Nationwide, Career Technical Education (CTE) programs are changing, evolving and innovating to better serve the countryâs needs. CTE is preparing students of all ages to help drive Americaâs success and vitality. Further, it is creating an educational environment that integrates core academics with real-world relevance. CTE is leading this change, transforming expectations and making a difference for students, for secondary and post-secondary schools, for businesses and industryâfor America.
Career Technical Education (CTE) is helping our nation meet the very real and immediate challenges of economic development, student achievement and global competitiveness. Twenty percent of the jobs in the U.S. require a 4-year degree or higher. Sixty percent of jobs require post-secondary technical training, not exceeding a 2-year Associateâs Degree.
