It's 9 PM and your child says he/she has Algebra II homework and you don't have a clue how to help him/her....Don't Despair...Homework Kansas is here!!!
Students now have access to tutors to help them with homework from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM, seven days a week, thanks to the folks at Kan-ed.
You can access HomeworkKansas through your Kansas Library Card at http://www.kslc.org. Enter your ID number and your birthday in 00/00/0000 format and click on the HomeworkKansas link at the top or you can go to www.homeworkkansas.org and click on the link to connect you to Homework Kansas.
Due to budget cuts at the State Library, HomeworkKansas was not going to be funded for the 2009-2010 school year, but Kan-ed came through and not only took over responsibility for the project, but added to it. They increased the hours of service and the content available. Students will have access to trained tutors via the Internet for help in the following areas. This help is also available in Spanish.
- Math: elementary, algebra I, algebra II, geometry, trigonometry and calculus
- Science: elementary, earth science, biology, chemistry, physics
- Social studies: American History, World History, Political Science and more
- English: spelling, grammar, book reports, essay writing and more
They also added the SkillsCenter Resource library which provides thousands of worksheets, tutorials, study guides and more which are available 24/7. They added some prep tests for ACT, PSAT, and SAT, as well practice of GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT for graduate level classes in college. You can also practice for the AP tests, ASVAB, COMPASS, and TOEFL.
If you or someone you know needs help preparing for taking the GED that is also available through HomeworkKansas. Need help writing a resume, you can find that on the college center tab. In the Adult Career center tab you will find tools to help you go back to school, brush up on your study skills, and even someone who will proofread those essays for you before you submit to your teacher.
Need help with Financial Literacy, beginning a US citizen, helping your child with homework, job searches, resumes and cover letters.....it's all here free for you to use thanks to the generosity of Kan-ed and it's partners.
