The Prairie View wrestling team made history by becoming regional champions at the February 15th and 16th regional’s in Eudora, sending a total of seven wrestlers to state competition this coming weekend in Salina. Head Coach Walter Vandeventer received the coach of the year award from the regional area. Everyone who traveled contributed to the team's overall point total which resulted in a regional championship.
State
Qualifiers Those student athletes include champions
Quinton Ford, C.J. Randall and Nathan Sommer in weight classes 125,
171 and 145 respectively. Clint Holland, Colton Kral and Bo Newport
were second place finishers in weight classes 160, 112 and 103 lbs
respectively. Bronson Moylan finished in fourth place in the 130 lb
division.
Brett Diediker, Ty Page, Levi Gochenour, Andy Stanton, Chad Thomas and Holden Stanage contributed to the team's overall victory. Stanton was one victory short of qualifying for state.
